Gulf Recovery: BP Worker Exposes Truth of Working Oil Spill Cleanup

Project Gulf Impact is down in the Gulf right now conducting interviews and launching preliminary relief efforts to give the citizens of the Gulf a voice, a chance that is long overdue for Gulf residents.

Rachel Maddow Did Some Great Reporting Re: Wetlands Last Night

. . . and if you missed it you should definitely check it out. I'd heard people saying how bad it will be for the oil to hit the wetlands, but no one really told WHY before. I mean outside of the obvious fact that it would be terribly difficult (damn near impossible) to clean. Last night Rachel explained what the wetlands were, what they do, and how the oil spill will harm the wetlands and ultimately the city of New Orleans and the rest of the country. I'm going to post the video below the jump.

(Video) President Obama's News Conference Today in Southern Louisiana

First off, this was a good news conference. President Obama was concise, on point, he had the Gulf Coast Governors beside him, with exception of Haley Barbour. What he said was vitally important to the residents of that area, "We will not abandon you."  That is what they needed to hear.  As many of you know, I have been critical of the communication coming from this White House and it does need to be fixed.  But the people down there was beginning to think this was another treatment like "Katrina" and this perception needed to be fixed ASAP. This is good first step, because the people of this region do not trust BP nor the slowness response of the government, thus far.
