(UPDATED) Facepalming in Biloxi (A Photo Diary)

by Free Chicken and Beer

It's rare that I disdainfully bury my face into my palm and massage my temples with my thumb and middle finger in quiet frustration so early in the morning. But the sheer lunacy of one woman's brazen suggestion at how I do my job nonetheless prompted me to facepalm around 8:30 yesterday. I have to say, that's the earliest time I've ever been so confused and saddened at the same time, so much so that I had such a reaction.

Read below the fold to find what exactly she said that crushed my spirits and prompted the palming of my face.

The Gulf Coast, its beaches, life is just a hot mess (Videos)

by icebergslim

I wrote a diary last week about Pensacola, Florida beaches smelling like a gas station, well on Hardball today Chris Matthews asked MSNBC's Science and Environment Expert, Jeff Corwin does it smell like that?  Corwin replied, "...it smells like a gas station...."

BP's Disaster - Turtle Hurdles Edition - ROV #37

by khowell

You are in the current BP disaster ROV, number 37. If you'd like to go back to see what we've said in days past, visit the current mothership. This is where you want to be for discussion, worrying, tearing up, and caring for each other.  It's also where you're welcome to be angry and scream and curse and cry and rant at the criminal negligence and greed that have brought us all together.  Most importantly, though, it's where we can learn from those kossaks among us (I'll not name names for abject fear of leaving one of you out, but you know who you are.) who bring the light of knowledge - sometimes with heat, sometimes without it - and teach us about what's happening beneath our Gulf of Mexico.

Big as Both Wars combined !

by Vetwife

This man made disaster is as big IMO as both wars combined and should absolutely be nationalized. We cannot let a corporation run a war on nature. Iraq and Afghanistan is devistating lives to be sure. People are dying.  People will be dying from this as well.  Oxygen comes from the seas. This thing is bigger that people believe.
