It's an important question.  Oil and Corexit are toxic even neurotoxic.  Brain lesions even.

The states of Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana, along with U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration have analyzed hundreds of samples of fish and shellfish from the waters affected by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. To date, the data show no reason for concern about consuming seafood from the Gulf region due to the hurricanes.

As always, fishermen should avoid catching seafood in areas with visible oil sheens or slicks, and should only harvest live seafood

BP to offer claimants a One-time Payment

BP offers one-off payouts to stem Gulf oil spill lawsuits
Lump-sum compensation offered in return for waiving the right to sue,
but uncertainty remains for those indirectly affected

BP will begin its legal offensive this month to cap its liabilities from the Gulf of Mexico disaster by offering those affected one-off compensation payouts in return for them waiving the right to sue.

Hmmm ... Seems BP is a bit worried about the long-term effects of that 1.8 Millions of gallons of Corexit, they used -- to help make that spill problem disappear?

Project Gulf Impact - Telling Their Stories

There's a lot of speculation about the long term impact of the oil left behind from the massive oil gusher in the Gulf.  There are still questions about the relief wells, the cap and whether the oil will really be held at bay for the long term.

And then you have the millions of gallons of dispersant, Corexit, that was sprayed in the air and over water, it was used profusely in a way that hadn't been done in any previous spills.

There have been dairies about the health of the workers, the residents, etc. but not many.  I wrote about the early diagnosis of the health issues facing workers and residents being a syndrome known as tilt.  The people suffering are being shouted down by skeptics, you can see it my diary that I reference.  The more doubt given to their symptoms and their health issues, the less BP, etc. will have to actually pay and be responsible for what they are doing.

Beyond Pathetic: BP Hiding Oiled Animal Carcasses Washing Up On Gulf Beaches?

RawStory reports today that on MSNBC's Countdown with Keith Olbermann Monday night, Marine toxicologist Riki Ott alleged that British Petroleum (BP) is trying to discourage or disallow public and media from seeing some of the horrific results of their oil leak by removing oiled animal carcasses from Gulf beaches.
