I couldn't believe my ears.  Did Arnold just change from Red to Blue ?

Or maybe it was just a deeper shade of Green.

The governor's vehement defense of the climate legislation commonly referred to as AB32 comes amid a fierce campaign led by oil interests to win passage in November of Proposition 23, a ballot measure that calls for suspending the climate law until the jobless rate hits 5.5 percent for a year, a level achieved only three times in 40 years.

Schwarzenegger, speaking before several hundred people at the Commonwealth Club in Santa Clara, said the proponents of Prop. 23 are attempting to subvert the democratic process using scare tactics. He likened the campaign to a shell game hiding what he said was the real purpose: "self-serving greed."

"They are creating a shell argument that they are doing this to protect jobs," the governor said. "Does anybody really believe they are doing this out of the goodness of their black oil hearts - spending millions and millions of dollars to save jobs?"

BP is the gift that will continue to screw the Gulf Coast region by poisoning them while continuing to cover up the oil spill.

The EPA is the gift that continues to look LAME, against the power house foreign company called BP.

The government continues to be quasi in charge, while attempting to look NOT IN CHARGE.

Put these three together the gifts that keep screwing the Gulf Coast Region.

Multiple reports are surfacing of BP and law-enforcement officials restricting access of the press to Alabama beaches.

One report involves Alabama conservationist John Wathen, who has shot perhaps the two most dramatic videos of the Gulf oil disaster and recently was featured on Countdown With Keith Olbermann.

Creator of Oil-Spill Videos Makes Us Proud to be from Alabama

It's not often that a progressive gets to say, "I'm proud to be from Alabama."

But we had an opportunity to feel that way Wednesday night when environmentalist John Wathen appeared on Countdown With Keith Olbermann to discuss his dramatic videos of damage from the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

On issues of national importance, the most prominent Alabama voices usually belong to Larry (U.S. Senator Richard Shelby), Moe (U.S. Senator Jeff Sessions), or Curly (Governor Bob Riley). I hate to tarnish the Three Stooges' comic legacy by linking them to conservative Alabama politicians, but it's the best comparison I can think of.

So it was indeed refreshing to see a progressive Alabamian make heart-felt and intelligent comments on national television--even if it was about an ongoing environmental catastrophe.

I wrote a diary last week about Pensacola, Florida beaches smelling like a gas station, well on Hardball today Chris Matthews asked MSNBC's Science and Environment Expert, Jeff Corwin does it smell like that?  Corwin replied, "...it smells like a gas station...."

Stop BP from destroying the marine life evidence.

Why is BP allowed to control the media take on marine life or the DEATH of marine life washing up on the Gulf Coast shores?

The dead marine animals washing up on the Gulf Shores are picked up FASTER than any BOOM or oil by BP!!  And that alone is a DAMN SHAME.

Question:  Why is that?

Don't you get that the evidence of marine life killed is just as important to removing the oil period?  Let alone, HELPS YOUR CASE AGAINST BP for the Gulf Coast.

First off, the BP Oil Disaster on the Deepwater Horizon is British Petroleum's fault at the end of the day.  Now BP can continue to point fingers at Transocean or Halliburton, but at the end of the day, it was BP who was drilling in deep ocean water for crude oil. Next, this is not Barack Obama's fault.  This was a man made disaster caused by greed, in my opinion.  Greed of a company to make more money, and greed of the money received to allowe BP to drill by the United States of America. Finally, the reality is that this oil will probably spill until the relief wells are on line, the earliest late July and the latest late August.  So, for another solid 60 days, we have the glorious opportunity to continue to view the toxic oil dumping into the Gulf Coast.AND

The President tells an aide:  PLUG THE DAMN HOLE.... My sentiments too, because this is becoming an embarrassment of the highest caliber and it falls under the Obama Watch. Yes, the Obama Watch.  Even though we KNOW that this despicable department had all kind of bullshit, and illegal bullshit attached to it while Bush Co. was in charge, the problem is that it never was FIXED.  And we are in year two of the Obama Watch.  Thus.... it falls under our watch.
